Starbucks spreads holiday cheer in Japan

In Japan, Starbucks is getting into the holiday spirit with merry new seasonal beverages and an impactful non-profit partnership to make spirits bright this season.

Available at Starbucks stores across Japan for a limited time, the new Strawberry & Velvet Brownie Frappuccino® blended beverage is inspired by bright red strawberries and delectable red velvet cake. Each beverage includes a whole chocolate brownie, creating a rich, indulgent drink that combines chocolatey notes with the sweet and tart flavors of strawberry. Topped with a glossy coat of bright red strawberry glaze, the velvety sheen, deep red color, and glamorous gold-colored chocolate toppings are sure to spark the holiday spirit.

Also available, the Strawberry & Velvet Brownie Mocha is a holiday twist on Starbucks popular café mocha. The sweet, tart strawberries pair perfectly with rich chocolate and Starbucks signature espresso, topped with strawberry glaze and red velvet brownie crumbs made from white chocolate and red cocoa.

To spread cheer and goodwill throughout the holiday season, each beverage customers enjoy at Starbucks will create a positive impact for vulnerable communities in Japan. A portion of the proceeds from beverage sales during the holiday season will be donated to local children through the non-profit Musubie, which supports community cafeterias across Japan where children and their parents can enjoy a nutritious meal and the spirit of togetherness. In addition, Starbucks partners will visit a number of cafeterias with gifts of Starbucks treats and holiday presents.
